Writing in role - Dad

"Janne, you have always been there for me. I want to be there for you, but I'm being held back by this divorce thing. I'm pushing for it to be finished as soon as possible, so that what we have goes uninterrupted. Its my ex-wife's fault. She's lazy, a drunk with no responsibilities. Oskar, he is becoming a tearaway, and she has done nothing to stop him. I am sorry for his actions, and I just wish I had more of a chance to discipline him and make it right. I'm sorry Janne, I will speak to you soon."

Here is a letter to Janne from Oskar's Dad. Our class had a discussion whether the Dad was in fact homosexual. He has a good friend in Janne, but the relationship seems more than just friends. Therefore I have explored that idea with this letter to Janne. As there is only one scene with these characters, ut allows the audience to choose their relationship, and question their motives together. So this piece of writing allows a further exploration into their relationship together, with the idea in mind that they are in a homosexual relationship together.
